Billy Innes

Billy Innes (USA), Team Captain

Billy began racing full time in 1991 while in college. He first began racing on the track and, in 1992, he won the "Rider of the Year" competition at the Kissena Velodrome. After graduating, he seriously pursued cycling and the time and commitment he invested has paid off with some great results.

He has raced for the Kissena Cycling Team, Breakaway Courier Systems and Taya Chain of Boulder, Colorado. In 1997, racing against the top amateurs in the country, Billy earned silver at the US National Criterium Championships. After that, he journeyed to Belgium for three months and raced the Kermesse scene and placed highly while competing against the top Belgian amateurs.

Since rejoining Kissena in 1998, Billy has won stages at the Tour of Ohio and has spent 5 days in the leader's jersey as well. He has won the infamous New England classic: Jiminy Peak RR, as well as New York state titles in the road race and the time trial. He's also placed second in the North Atlantic Time Trial Championships and played a key role in helping many of his teammates to their own victories.
